Annie Leibovitz
personal  |  DEC. 11, 2008

If anybody's wondering what to get me for Christmas, Annie Leibovitz' new book "Annie Leibovitz at Work" is definitely the ticket!! I love, love, love Annie. We're on a first name basis, yes it's true. Her images rock the house. I can't wait to check out her new book and get peek behind the curtain into her creative process. This is the one book that could actually pry me away from my laptop. I know, I know, that's hard to imagine.

Here's a cool CNN interview with Annie about her new book "Annie Leibovitz at Work". It's available at amazon.com for a really, really reasonable price…I'm just sayin' ;-)

Wednesday Website of The Week #7
personal  |  DEC. 10, 2008

The inspirations for each week's "Wednesday Website of The Week" come from far and wide and this week's is no different.

After bringing home my Christmas tree last week, from the Pronzini Christmas Tree Farm here in Petaluma, Wendy noticed a little strip of green plastic stapled to the bottom of the tree. Wendy, a noted holiday expert, was in town helping me decorate the tree and ring in the holidays season. What's that we wondered? And there it was, a message about using earth911.com to recycle your tree.

Interesting and worth a look I thought, maybe even a good "Wednesday Website of The Week"? It always bugged me after the holidays seeing all those Christmas trees waiting curbside to make their way to the landfill. There had to a greener alternative.

earth911.com is the perfect "green" website for the holidays when, in addition to having great times with family and friends, eating fantastic meals, and giving and receiving awesome gifts, we're generating a ton of garbage.

How can I responsibly dispose of my tree after the holidays? How can I recycle all that wrapping paper? What's the best recycled gift? What do I do with my old cell phone now that I just got that iPhone I've been dying for? Earth911.com to the rescue.

This is such a cool site. In addition to all sorts of environmentally friendly articles about the best ways to recycle it has a great recycling search engine built in.

All you have to do is enter what you'd like to recycle (tree, cell phone, that ugly tie from last years Christmas stocking, etc.), then enter where you live, hit the "Go" button and bam - a list of recycling options appears. Pick ups, drop offs, you name it, it's a recycler's dream come true.

Check out earth911.com and join me in helping to make this holiday season a little greener.

Kyle's Big Five-O!
special events  |  DEC. 9, 2008

Here are a few of my favorites from Kyle's 50th Birthday Soiree! Kyle's wife, Elgina, threw him a classic "Old Hollywood" themed party in their recently restored "must-be-seen-to-be-believed" Alameda Theatre .

OMG! You have to see this place… it's unbelievable. Kyle and Elgina have lovingly restored this grand old theatrical gem down to the last detail. The paint's barely dry on their labor of love completed just six months ago. What a amazing job they did. You just don't see theaters like this anymore. Get 10 of your best friends together and go see a movie there now!! You can thank me later.

The Alameda Theatre would also be such a cool place for wedding receptions. Think of it, your very own red carpet wedding reception, limousines, champaign, big lights, Joan and Melissa Rivers… okay, strike that last part. I mentioned this to Kyle and he's up for it. So come on ladies, be the first one to book a wedding reception fit for a starlet.

What a great party Egina!! Thank you both for asking me to come and capture all the fun. Big happy birthday shout out to you Kyle!!

You can see more images from Kyle's big night at our Proofing Boutique .

From the look of it Kyle always gets it right on the first take.
