Children's Photography, Sonoma, CA: Rebecca
JUL. 5, 2011

I love working with families and especially children. Kids are great for so many reasons, starting with how fun and crazy they can be!! It's' also interesting to see their young personalities taking shape, and unlike adults, they really haven't developed a mask to wear when they're having a portrait taken.

This is ideal because it really lets who they are shine through in the photographs. I also love working with the little ones because it puts me back in touch with a wonderful part of my life and keeps me young at heart.

Here's a fun composite from a recent studio session with the lovely little miss Rebecca!

If you're interested in portrait session for your family or children please contact the studio.

Promotional headshots, Sonoma, CA: Byron & Wendy Roe
JUL. 2, 2011

I was excited when husband and wife wedding photography team Byron and Wendy Roe asked me to shoot business headshots for their websites and promotional materials. They’re great friends and super talented colleagues. If you don’t know their work be sure to check out Byron Roe Photography. Wendy is also a superb web marketing specialist who’s speaks fluent Google, a valuable language to know for sure!! I’m always learning something new from her about how to do things better on the SEO side of things. Sign up for one of her consultations today, you’ll be glad you did!

I love shooting portraits, especially when I have the opportunity to work with other creative people. Photographing other photographers, actors, and bands gives me a chance to create more stylized, editorial, and fashion oriented images than I’m able to do when shooting more formal executive portraits and corporate headshots. Corporate work is great but these kinds of sessions are way more fun!!

We had a great time shooting these images in Petaluma, CA. Enjoy!!

If you’re interested in a booking your own portrait session please contact the studio.

Pet portrait photography, Sonoma CA: meet Otis the Pug!
JUN. 23, 2011

My blogging hiatus is officially over! Been a crazy 6 months but I'm back at the keyboard and excited to share with you again. I've got lots of great stuff coming up - cool shoots, lighting how to's, workflow/post processing tutorials and product reviews to name a few. So check back because this baby is definitely kickin' again.

Let's reboot things with a fun pet portrait photography session of Otis the Pug!!

I love photographing our four legged friends! Pet owners out there know how special these little critters are and how they really do become members of the family. Pets enrich our lives everyday that we're lucky enough to have them around. Otis has been sick recently which made the shoot all the more special. He's doing much better now and is such a sweet little guy.

I wish I had done a portrait session of my beautiful girl Louisiana before she passed a little over a year ago this June. I tell every pet owner I know they should get a pet portrait photography session done for their pets. Saying I should have is no fun, trust me.

Otis was a great sport during his session! He especially enjoyed the peanut butter treats he got to coax those lip smacking good expressions out of him. I'm really glad Rebecca brought him in for a session, we all had a great time. Otis, my man!!

If you're interested in booking a pet portrait photography session just contact the studio and we'll get you set up. We'd love to meet you and your special friends!

Photographers: If you'd like to learn more about the studio lighting I used to created these images please check back in a few days. I'll explain exactly how I did it ;-)
